The last of the Thanksgiving pics!

Finally, the last of the Thanksgiving pics! I guess I could have stopped at any point but hey, it's my blog right? This is what happens anytime somebody tries to cook around Bakersfield. Too many chefs...
This was our last meal of the week, kitchen sink breakfast taco's.

The whipper-snappers playing in the field.

The Mrs. helping Sister shoot.

It's a big place.

Me and my beauties!

Me and Bub shooting.

Clearing trails through the woods for the go-cart.

More from Thanksgiving week!

I have one more group of pics to blog after this one from our week at Bakersfield then I will be finished. Just in time for Christmas. It's a really busy timeUs hanging around the fire pit.
Grilling dogs and marshmallows.

Me and Papa working on the go-cart. It gets pretty beat up running through the woods but it's a blast.

Me and the Mrs. hanging out on the hammock.

Great way to spend a lazy afternoon.

The group playing cards. Bub sits in for me when I'm cooking.

The Mrs. cooking deer steak. I think she is going for the sympathy vote with this. Can you tell she was a theater major in college?

East Texas moon.

Another of almost daily trailer rides. This is the small trailer so it means we're going through the woods.

Mimi and Nannie enjoying the fire.

A special note for Mimi and Papa (or anyone else who might be interested)

I have been trying to e-mail these pics to you but can't add attachments to yahoo right now for some reason. If you double left click on the pics below they will appear on a separate screen and then you can save them to your computer. Hope this helps.

Christmas times a coming....

The Mrs. has put up all the Christmas decorations and clan Daniel is gearing up for that most wonderful time of the year. Tomorrow (Saturday 12/12) we leave the whipper-snappers with Nannie and we begin the Christmas shopping. Then tomorrow night we are off to our first Christmas party.
Christmas is such a great time, especially for the kids. I remember the feeling of anticipation weeks before the big day. Just to be a kid again at Christmas.

There is no better day in a kids life outside of Christmas. Our job as parents is to make sure that the kids learn to love the giving as much as receiving.
And to remind them and ourselves of the greatest gift ever given. Christ offers us today this free gift if only we will accept it.

Leftover Thanksgiving week pics

Have been very busy and out of town since Thanksgiving so I wanted to add some of the pics that I didn't get on thru the week of Thanksgiving. From time to time, we would have to put Butch in the pen thru the week. Usually this was to keep him out of the deer cleaning.
A view of the kitchen in the barn apartment at Bakersfield (name of land not town).

Dutch oven cowboy potato's...or potatoes...or... I don't remember how to spell that particular root vegetable!

Chicken fried deer steak.

Camp eats!

Yum-O!!!

Mimi eats a rib....she's gonna kill me for this I'm sure.

Mighty fire builders... maybe they are preparing to go to A&M Papa?

Me teaching Bub how to build a fire with flint and steel. Not an easy task when everything is damp.

We got it. Finally!
